International Caricature Competition, organized by Kaplanlar Refrigeration in order to draw attention to climate change and create awareness for the environment has been concluded with a cocktail on 28 March 2018 when presentation of awards to winners and opening of the exhibition of the finalist caricatures took place.
The competition event was part of the celebrations to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Kaplanlar. There were 1400 entries by 506 caricature artists from 31 countries for the competition organized by Kaplanlar in collaboration with the Anadolu Caricaturists Association. Ba Biling's work from China won the 1st prize.The works by Murat Sarı and Musa Gümüş,both from Turkey,won the 2nd and 3rdplace prizes, respectively while Jovco Savov from Bulgaria, Ali Reza Moghaddam from Iran and Tomasz Wolosyzyn from Germany were awarded as honorable mentions.The 97 finalist caricatures were exhibited at the Bursa Nilufer Municipality Art Gallery for 3 weeks for the public to visit.

Nazlı Kaplan,Deputy Managing Director of Kaplanlar, commenting on the competition event stated that as a socially responsible company they were concerned about the environment we all live in. When they considered some activities to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Kaplanlar, search for a new way to draw attention to climate change and create awareness for the environment was started.After some deliberations Kaplanlar management decided to organize an international caricature competition with the theme of environment to illustrate the consequences of climate change. And then rules of the competition was announced and invitations were sent to artists all over the world through the Anadolu Caricaturists Association.Participation to competition was a record level with 1400 entries from 31 countries.
